Styled by the Italian design specialists Pininfarina, the Nubira is characterised by simplicity and power of proportion. Following Pininfarina's philosophy that the front of the car is like the face of a person - the part that most expresses character - much personality was embodied in this part of the Nubira. The results are bold lines on the engine bonnet, which guide the eye to the new company badge and the chrome-plated radiator grille, flanked by dual headlights. From the side, the rear quarter glass enables the design to create a flowing side view silhouette and boosts the feeling of interior spaciousness.
At the rear, the boot, including high-tech see-through rear lights, flows to the roofline, creating a single aerodynamic surface right to the end of the car.
The Nubira was tested extensively in a total of four continents, driving more than 1.1 million miles. The result is a vehicle engineered with very positive power steering as well as responsive, yet refined sus- pension settings. This enhances stability during high speed driving whilst retaining high levels of comfort at all times. This is achieved through a sophisticated dual link rear suspension and front McPherson struts.
The Nubira has a choice of 2 advanced 16v engines, driving power through the front wheels providing relaxed and swift performance. Each engine is tuned to provide power from low revs to maximise driveability.
